16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?
1. I would say that most of my human capital comes from my focus on rational thinking and my ability to not let my emotions cloud my judgment. While I sometimes fail in this I try extremely hard to maintain a level head at all times and allow my rational side to do the decision making. I also learn quite quickly and think I do a good job of leveraging new information against whatever obstacles I might be presented with.
2. Ralph: This was an interview with my father. He emphasized my intelligence but most of all emphasized my morals and loving nature. I don't see myself as that affectionate of a person so that was a nice surprise.
Lilly: This interview was with my mother. She emphasized my hard-working nature and ability to get a job done. She also described me as an ethical person.
Catherine: This interview was with my sister. She also described me as intelligent and ethical. She said that my human capital had a lot to do with my ability to make the right decision even if it is difficult.
Liam: This interview was with one of my best friends. Liam described me as a hard worker and quick learner. I sometimes struggle with my work ethic but it was promising that he said he admired my work ethic and also considered me a loyal friend.
Conor: This interview was with another of my best friends. Conor gave me quite a long description of five traits that unique to me. One which I greatly appreciated him saying is my observant nature and my drive to always deescalate situations and prevent feuds.
3. I found the main difference between how I saw myself and how others saw me is that I put a large emphasis on my rationality while others put an emphasis on my ethics and people skills. This makes a lot of sense to me because that is the side of me that they deal with the most. I do think my interviewees are correct about me even if I would probably not be so kind in describing myself. I would add my observant nature and ability to read situations to my list in part 1 after having conducted these interviews.
