27A – Reading Reflection No. 3
The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users
1. The general theme of the book was that in order to make full use of social media one must approach it with a strategy in place and follow the three steps of building a foundation, amassing digital assets and then going to market as required. Fitzpatrick calls this becoming a power user.
2. The book connected with the lesson I learned about the importance of marketing for a new business.
3. The exercise would involve creating a social media page for our potential business.
4. My biggest surprise was the well thought out strategy Fitzpatrick had for creating a successful marketing campaign on social media.

I think your idea for having an exercise that would involve creating a social media page for our potential business is quite sensible and good. I think in addition, it would be a good idea to incorporate usage of one of the post-scheduling software mentioned in the book.
