14A – Halfway Reflection

Image
1. I developed good time management habits and make sure to keep track of what was due. I made sure to think critically about the assignment and work on them with full effort. 2. I felt like giving up before my first Finance exam but I pushed through and got a good grade. The drive to succeed and make it into a good law school helped me push through. I do feel like I have developed a tenacious attitude. 3. 1. Always make sure you are organized and know what is due 2. Always have your long term goals in mind when working on assignments or studying 3. Always give yourself extra time to work on assignments in case something unexpected happens.

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson 1. The thing that surprised me the most was that Jobs did not become a billionaire from Apple but from Pixar. I admired his ability to make whatever he was set on achieving happen. I least admired his inability to listen to other people. He encountered adversity when he was fired from apple in 1985 but he bounced back by making Pixar a huge success. 2. Steve Jobs was incredibly smart and persistent. He never gave up on his goals. 3. I was confused by his arbitrary choice in the name apple for his company. 4. What do you think was the most vital factor in your success? If you could it again differently would you and how? 5. I think Steve Jobs viewed hard work as essential to success.

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

Figuring out Buyer Behavior For my segment, I picked couples in their 30's who are either looking to build a home or have recently bought a home. Thankfully most of my cousins fit this segment so it was easy to find people to interview. I would say that all three were aware of the need for climate change resistant housing. Rising temperatures mean increasing electricity bills and they are aware that building using better insulating materials as well as implementing solar energy could save them money in the long run. They said that the first place they would go for information search is google and they would search how to cut down on their electricity bill. Some key terms would be climate change, housing, expensive electricity bill. I think this segment is relatively well aware of the need for my product and use the internet for their information search.

11A – Idea Napkin No. 1

Idea Napkin 1) My name is Christian Collazo. I am a pre-law political science student at UF with aspirations of being a federal prosecutor and eventually a judge. I am a quick learner and have some job experience working with various judges and law firms. I would see this business becoming my passion as well as my primary income source. 2) I am offering climate change-resistant housing. It would solve a need by making housing more environmentally friendly as well as resistant to rising temperatures and rising ocean levels. 3) I am offering my product to environmentally conscious home builders. Most likely couples in their 30's. My customers would have in common that they are looking to build homes that are future-proofed. 4) Younger generations tend to be more environmentally conscious as well as more aware of the effects of climate change. They will buy my product as it will solve some of the worries they might have over climate change. 5) My resolve and problem...

10A – Elevator Pitch No. 1

9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

After interviewing five more people I was able to further refine what the prototypical customer will look like for my phone retrieving device. While most people share the need of having to retrieve their phone from the gap between the center console and the seat in cars, some people are not moved enough by the need to actually buy a product that would prevent that. Finding other multipurpose uses to build into the product might help alleviate this issue. Or making it a desirable accessory for the car. My product faces the issue of perhaps being too specific. Inside the Boundary Who is in: Those with cell phones and cars What the need is: The need to retrieve cell phones that fall between the center console and the seat in cars Why the need exists: The gap is very tight and it can be a hassle to stick your hand in and fish out your phone Outside the Boundary Who is Not: Those who do not feel strongly enough about the inconvenience this need presents to actually buy a product Wh...

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1) I believe that building some sort of insert for the gap between the car seat and the center console or a device to retrieve a phone from that gap could be a successful product. 2)This could be marketed towards anyone with a phone and a car and could help alleviate the issue of getting items stuck in that gap. This occurs as the gap is just left wide open. 3) Everyone in my current who shares the need. The boundaries of the need are that some might feel that is not enough of an issue to warrant the purchase of a product. I do not believe anyone will disagree with why. 4) I discovered in my interviews that while most people deal with the issue many may not feel strongly enough to act upon and solve the issue. 5) I discovered I might have to make the product multipurpose in order to get more individuals to purchase my product.

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

1st Opportunity: I believe there is an opportunity for a social program to increase youth voting. The increased emphasis as of late on the proportionally small percentage in which youth voters come out to vote has put pressure on this demographic to have their voice heard. I learned of the need for increased youth voting through reading The Washington Post. I believe there is a political opportunity for increased emphasis on youth voting as youth supported policies are underrepresented. I think any young person that is currently unwilling to vote would be the prototypical person. I think this would be a moderately difficult opportunity to capitalize on. I formed the belief as I am passionate about politics. 2nd Opportunity: I believe there is an opportunity to develop an alternative to fossil fuels. I learned of this by reading the news and learning about recent findings on climate change. I believe this is an opportunity as climate change means that fossil fuels will not be...
